Selous Game Reserve / Ruaha National Park - 7 Days - SAS10

This Itinerary will take you to Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National parks in the southern circuit. The parks hosts small and large mammals including variety of birds species and reptiles, accommodation can be at the standard or luxury lodges, luxury Tented camp or budget camping sites. Accommodation can be in lodge, tented camp or basic camping booked on full board arrangements.

Day 1: Dar-es-Salaam - Selous Game Reserve
Transfer to Dar es salaam International Airport. A light aircraft will fly you over the Rufiji Delta and onto the Selous airstrip. On arrival you will be met on arrival and transferred to the Camp. Afternoon game drive or boat excursions on the Rufiji River. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp / Selous Safari Camp/Sand Rivers Camp.

Day 2: Selous Game Reserve - full day
After breakfast begins with the most exciting experience the Selous has to offer. A walking safari which is accompanied by an armed range for approx. 1 to 2 hrs. This allows you to get a real feel of the African bush and allows you to see much more, especially birds, insects and vegetation. Return to the camp by vehicle. Lunch at the Camp. After lunch explore the Selous further by game driving in the Selous. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp / Selous Safari Camp/Sand Rivers Camp

Day 3: Selous Game Reserve - Ruaha National Park
After breakfast transfer to airport for schedule flight to Ruaha. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the camp/lodge. Lunch at the Camp. Afternoon game drive or game walk. Dinner overnight at Ruaha River Lodge / Mwagusi Camp / Mdonya Camp/ Jongomero Camp

Day 4: Ruaha National Park - full day
After breakfast, full day game drive of Ruaha National Park with picnic lunch. Ruaha, with an area of 10,300sq.km. is the second largest park, and second largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania. The great Ruaha River which flows along its entire eastern border, creating spectacular gorges and scenery, features a large number of hippos and crocodiles. The wide variety of animals include Greater and Lesser Kudu, roan and sable antelope. Bird life is rich, with over 370 species recorded. Dinner overnight at Ruaha River Lodge / Mwagusi Camp / Mdonya Camp / Jongomero Camp

Day 5: Ruaha National Park - full day
After breakfast one excursion. Return to camp for lunch and rest. Evening excursion (i.e. walking or game drive). Dinner overnight at Ruaha River Lodge/ Mwagusi Camp/ Mdonya Camp / Jongomero Camp

Day 6: Ruaha National Park - Dar-es-Salaam
An early morning excursion. After breakfast transfer to airport and fly back to Dar-es-Salaam. Transfer from airport to your hotel or onward destination.
